The origins of the present company date back to 1999 when Ruwa-Con was formed by Pieter Ruthven. Subsequently the then closed corporation was converted into a company (Pty) Ltd, resulting in the name being changed to Ruwacon in 2003.
The Rantsoareng family joined Ruwacon in 2010 successfully transforming the shareholding of Ruwacon to become one of the few 51% black owned 9GB / 9CE construction firms. Today, under the leadership of the Rantsoareng family, the company has an annual turnover in excess of R 1.1 Billion, employs a workforce of approximately 1100 workers and is engaged on approximately 50 active sites across South Africa.
Our rich history of achievement that dates back to 1999, is an indication of the proficiency that has always been part of Ruwacon’s management at various levels in the organisation. Valentine Rantsoareng chairs the Board of Directors of Ruwacon with Pieter Ruthven as CEO, Hansie Rheeder as Financial Director and Pretty Rantsoareng, the Marketing Director. Management at Ruwacon has irrefutably committed themselves to practice the Corporate Governance principles of integrity, respect and transparency.
These ethos forms the basis for managing all our operations, systems and structures, as well as our organisational culture. Management believes in a hands-on approach and our regional management structure ensures direct and regular management intervention at a site level. Transformation is driven at the highest level and pro-active measures are taken to ensure that Ruwacon comply with the BBBEE codes as stipulated by Government.
